Track & Trace is about giving each product a unique identity, usually through a data matrix code or QR code, which follows the product throughout the production chain. All tobacco products have a unique identity label, also called a traceability label. The purpose of the traceability system is to combat illegal trade in tobacco products.
For tobacco products such as snuff boxes, this means that each box is given a unique code, and the system then keeps track of which box is in which log, which log is packed in which carton, and which carton is placed on which pallet. Every step is carefully documented – without the possibility of manipulation.
In the future, we predict that products within Modern Oral will also be subject to the same high requirements for traceability. With our solution, you are already prepared for future regulations today and can easily press the button when the requirement arrives.
