Ruby is Trotec's intuitive laser engraving and cutting software, offering seamless design, preparation and production in one system. Ruby allows users to create and manage projects quickly and easily, with a user-friendly interface that improves workflow efficiency.
Get automatic focusing quickly and easily with a single push of a button thanks to the Sonar Technology™ ultrasonic sensor. The laser head detects the surface of the workpiece, the focus point is automatically identified and the worktable is moved to the correct focus distance.
Full flexibility also means being able to work on workpieces that are larger than the machine. The Speedy 400 can do this with ease by removing a passage hatch on the back. The hatch allows you to process long and bulky materials such as doors and wall panels of various types. This is an optional extra.
The Speedy 400 is the fastest and most productive mid-sized laser engraver in the industry. The model produces high-quality results even at its maximum engraving speed of 4.32 m/s. Trotec's central OptiMotion™ technology also generates maximum cutting speed with the highest cutting quality.
The Speedy 400 can be upgraded to the Flexx version, which means that the machine can be equipped with both CO₂ and fiber lasers. This patented technology makes it possible to process different materials in a single workflow, from engraving and cutting plastic, wood and leather to marking metal. This versatility makes the Speedy 400 a future-proof investment for companies that need flexible production.
Vision Design & Position is available as an option for the Speedy 400. The powerful camera is cleverly integrated into the laser cover and delivers a detailed live color image of the entire work area to the Ruby® software in a matter of seconds. This allows you to design graphics, place text directly on the workpiece or adjust an ongoing laser job live in Ruby®. Vision Design & Position shortens the laser workflow.

Ruby® is the ultimate design software that enables the daily work with the laser machine to run smoothly. You can create graphics, photos and text elements and make quick adjustments directly in the program. The platform guarantees profitable order management and has a networked, web-based and fully digital design. With Ruby®, you can connect all your laser machines in a network, locally or in the cloud, which allows users to distribute jobs to multiple machines from a PC or Mac. Thanks to the new workflow, jobs can be prepared by one user and produced by another at any time, from anywhere.
The smooth workflow starts with the design and continues from the preparation stage to production. Very little training is required for the user and an integrated wizard provides additional tips if needed. The user selects the material and material effects such as deeper engraving, dark engraving or cutout and the cloud-based material database helps you streamline the process.

Ruby is Trotec's own software and is included with the laser machine. It is also license-free.
Trotec laser machines are equipped with several safety features – protective covers, temperature sensors, safety switches such as a main switch, key switch and emergency stop button. These minimize risks for the operator.
Trotec machines have the CE marking, which meets EU requirements for safety, health and environmental protection. This gives you as the user a guarantee that the machine is safe to use and complies with applicable legislation.
The patented Flexx Technology™ integrates two laser sources – CO2 and fiber in the same machine, which allows processing of different materials in one and the same job. The CO2 laser source is ideal for engraving and cutting plastic, wood, rubber, leather and many more materials. The fiber laser is the right tool for marking metal and achieving color change on plastic. The two laser sources are activated alternately in a job without manual changing of the laser tube, lens or focus. This ensures the highest processing quality and productivity.
Yes, it is possible to upgrade Speedy 300/Speedy 360 and Speedy 400 to flexx. Ready-made upgrade kits are available to order from us.
Thanks to Trotec's InPack technology, which protects the sensitive components from dust and dirt, the machine requires minimal maintenance. Regular cleaning of lenses and mirrors is recommended to maintain high performance and extend the service life.
Yes, Trotec offers the Atmos extraction system, which ensures safe and clean operation of the laser system. It removes dust and gases from the work surface and filters the odors generated during laser processing with its active carbon filters. The Atmos extraction system contributes to a longer service life and protects the laser lenses.
