NordicEnvoy – Increased quality and efficiency with the Trotec Speedy series

Since 2007, Scandinavian Distributing AB, now known as NordicEnvoy AB, has been a leading player in selling environmentally conscious brands. In recent years, they’ve experienced impressive growth, becoming distributors for eight brands, focusing on outdoor products.

We spoke with Morgan Andersson, the company’s CEO, who shared insights into their operations and journey.

Quality issues and a lack of control

NordicEnvoy’s product range includes sustainable and environmentally friendly water bottles, thermoses, knives, and lunch boxes, processing materials like steel, wood, leather, and glass. Customers purchase these products to showcase their brand, for instance, as gifts at trade shows or for clients and employees. Before investing in laser machines, NordicEnvoy relied on external printers for personalized products, leading to quality problems and a lack of control over the final appearance.

Morgan had long considered investing in a laser engraving machine to offer customers a wider range and higher quality. However, space constraints and frequent relocations hindered this. It was only when NordicEnvoy purchased a new property with ample space that the opportunity for investment arose. Amid the ongoing pandemic, Morgan saw an opportunity for the company to focus on learning laser engraving themselves.

Logimark’s solution with laser machines

NordicEnvoy learned about Trotec laser machines through an American supplier. When Morgan asked if the US supplier could provide laser engraving machines, the response was:

“No, there’s no point as Trotec is the best in the world.”

Morgan quickly found Logimark as a distributor of Trotec machines. After fruitful discussions and product testing, NordicEnvoy first invested in a Trotec Speedy 100 with a rotary attachment, and later in a Trotec Speedy 400 flexx to meet the growing demand for larger products. Initially intending to replace the smaller laser machine, they found that the machines complemented each other well. The Speedy 100 handles smaller products with the rotary attachment, while the Speedy 400 handles larger, flatter materials simultaneously.

Despite NordicEnvoy’s lack of prior experience, installation and training went smoothly. Morgan is highly satisfied with the service provided by Logimark’s salespeople and technicians.

Efficient production and increased demand

Today, NordicEnvoy can customize and brand products for their customers, significantly boosting efficiency with in-house laser machines. They run at least one machine per day, with a normal production rate of about 200 products per day.

Their laser machines have garnered attention, leading to an influx of new customers and projects. They assist sheet metal workers in marking larger plates, engrave special designs on hand-blown glass artwork, and even received orders from Windy boats to engrave ID plates.

NordicEnvoy remains steadfast in the market, optimistic about the future. “We have the right products with the right quality and can offer a wide range, thanks to our invested machines,” he adds.
