Freezer labels

We offer freezer labels that are specially designed labels and adapted to be able to be attached to frozen products, i.e. products that have extremely low temperatures. It is mainly the adhesive that distinguishes freezer labels from other labels, as it is designed to withstand moisture, frost and cold. If the product is not frozen when applied, a special freezer label is usually not needed, and other labels should also work well in freezing environments. Are you unsure which label you need? We will help you find the right one based on our expertise and your needs!

Reasons why we recommend Freezer labels

Freezer labels withstand tough environments

  • Adhesion at low temperatures: They adhere to frosty surfaces and remain in place in temperatures down to -80°C or even lower.
  • Water and moisture resistant: They resist condensation and moisture without the text fading or the label coming off.
  • High durability: Freezer labels retain their quality and readability for a long time in both freezing and refrigeration environments.
  • Printability: They can be customized with barcodes, QR codes, logos or other important information.

Suitable for identification and tracking in cold environments

Freezer labels are used in a variety of industries where products need to be tracked or identified in cold environments. Common uses include:

  • Labelling of food products in the food industry.
  • Identification of samples in medical research and laboratory operations.
  • Labelling of packages and boxes in cold storage and cold chains.
  • Tracking of products in the pharmaceutical industry.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Freezer Labels

Yes, freezer labels have a special adhesive that is adapted to stick to frosty or frozen surfaces.

Most freezer labels can withstand temperatures down to -80°C, but this can vary depending on the material and adhesive.

Yes, freezer labels are often compatible with both thermal transfer printers and inkjet printers.

Yes, freezer labels are water resistant and work great in environments with high humidity or condensation.

The minimum order value is 2000 SEK, the number of labels for this amount depends on material, size and adhesive, among other things.

There is a whole wealth of material!

For paper labels, you can choose, for example, coated paper, rustic wine paper or metallic paper. Plastic or synthetic labels are available in polypropylene, polyethylene, vinyl or polyester, the latter two of which are UV-resistant.

Inkjet is a material on the label, available in both plastic and paper, matte and glossy, that absorbs ink, making it optimal for labels to be printed on your own in a color printer.

Other materials worth mentioning are transparent and holographic.

If you are looking for a label made from recycled material, we have it in both paper and plastic.

What distinguishes a freezer label from other labels is the custom adhesive.

To create a label, you need to specify the dimensions width x length and how it should be rolled up.

We have a variety of existing punches in different sizes. If the measurement is not found in an existing punch, we can create a new punch or use laser cutting.

A punch is a tool for cutting out labels.

It is possible to get a finished print on your freezer labels. We use digital printing or flexo printing, where in both printing methods you can design the label exactly how you want.

  • Digital printing: We use high-quality digital printing, which is advantageous because it is fast, you don't need clichés, which means that if you want to change the design, there won't be a lot of extra costs.
  • Flexo printing: Flexographic printing uses clichés, which are usually cheaper for larger volumes. You pay for clichés per color.

There are many options to make your label stand out. Examples of special effects include gold/silver foiling, silkscreen, embossing and hot foil.

  • Digital gold/silver/copper foiling: Digital foiling in metallic colors provides a raised visual and tactile effect on the label.
  • Hot foil: Gets a foiled effect from an immersion in the label.
  • Silkscreen: A varnish that is applied over the design, creating a raised visual and tactile effect on the label.
  • Embossing/Stamping: Embossing creates a raised or depressed structure on the material that allows for both visual and tactile distinction on the surface. This particular effect is most effective on paper materials, as embossing on synthetic materials can return to the original shape of the material.
  • Laminate and varnish: Provides an extra protective surface and can be applied to create both matte and glossy effects. If you know you will be printing something on the label, such as a date or batch, it is best to choose printable varnish.
  • When you contact us, we need to know the size, material, adhesive, quantity and special effects for the freezer label you are considering. We will then prepare a quote.
  • Once you have approved the quote, we would like you to send us your label design in PDF format. We will send you an order acknowledgement and this design must also be approved based on delivery address, quantity and material.
  • We then produce a proof that must be approved to ensure that the information is correct.
  • We then start the printing process and the labels are rolled up onto reels as requested.
  • Delivery approximately 8-10 days.

Winding and Bobbin/core: We can offer cores in 1 inch (25,4 mm), 2 inches (41 mm) and 3 inches (76,2 mm).

Winding: It is important to remember that if the label is not to be applied by hand, the labels are rolled up correctly. Otherwise, there is a risk that the label will end up in the wrong direction in an automated process.

It is also important to know the maximum outer diameter of the label roll so that the roll is not too large and therefore does not fit in the printer. This information is usually available in the data sheet for your printer.
