For quick and clean emptying

The turner takes a firm grip on the can, moves it to the side and turns it upside down – so that the contents easily fall out. The can is then carefully blown clean using a directed air nozzle, to ensure that no snus pouches remain.

The presser – Secures each lid

Our presser is a reliable final control station that ensures that no lid is left to chance. As the lid passes on the conveyor, it is pressed down – so that even loose or skewed lids are securely fastened. No waste lids fall off unnecessarily, but are taken to the correct sorting.

Logimark's "Overhanging pouch" camera system scans and analyzes cans in a fraction of a second without slowing down production. The system and associated scale detect whether the can:

  • has an overhang

This step takes place directly in the production line before the can divider takes over.

The cans that are sorted out end up on a buffer track. It functions as an intermediate storage that collects cans when there is a queue at the can divider – so that the flow is always kept even and stable.

A separate unit, a so-called separator or intacter, feeds the cans one by one from the buffer path to the can divider. This ensures that each can is handled accurately and without interference.

When the can enters the machine, it is gripped by a side belt that pulls it forward. At the same time, guides move between the lid and the can and push (or pull) the lid off – all in a controlled and automated flow.

The can is then passed to a turner who grabs it, turns it upside down and lets the contents (the snus pouches) fall out. A blow nozzle then blows the can clean of any residue.

The lid is transported further past the can while the can is inside the turner. After the sorting process, both the can and lid continue on different paths to their respective return systems.

Yes, that's the whole point. Both the can and lid go back to their respective feeders to be reused in production – reducing material waste and making the process more sustainable and cost-effective.

How does Logimark's Can Divider work?

Here is an overview of how the process works:

Sorting via weighing system – Cans that do not meet the weight requirements are automatically sorted out – this may be due to: overweight, underweight or overhanging pouches.

Buffer lane collects the cans – The faulty cans are collected on a buffer path. This allows the machine to handle variations in the flow without affecting the pace of production.

Separation and feeding – A separator – also called an intacter – feeds the cans one by one into the can divider to ensure a smooth and controlled process.

Lid separates from can – The side band grips the can and pulls it forward. At the same time, guides are inserted between the can and the lid to separate them. This is done both quickly and gently.

Products are emptied and the can is cleaned. – The can is transported sideways to a turner, which grabs the can, turns it upside down and empties the contents. An air nozzle blows the can clean of any residue.

Lid and can are reused – While the can is processed in the turner, the lid continues along the belt and the lid and can are sorted into different containers. After sorting, both the can and lid return to their respective feeding systems for reuse in production.
