Recoma AB – The building material of the future gets ink jet printing

When sustainability, innovation and smart solutions come together, companies like Recoma ABemerge. The Hässleholm-based company has quickly become a pioneer in recycling, with a business concept that is literally built on waste. By converting garbage into climate-smart building boards, Recoma offers a product that both reduces waste and meets the construction industry's growing demands for sustainability. To meet customers' wishes for clear and sustainable marking of the boards, Recoma turned to Logimark – a partner who delivered both the right technology and the right support.
From garbage mountain to building board
Recoma AB was founded in 2021 and started production in February 2023. Behind the company's vision is, among others, founder and CEO Max Rosenberg, who shows off the company's raw material - a massive mountain of garbage in the company's production facility. What is waste for others is a valuable resource for Recoma. The material is ground down, pressed together and refined into robust construction boards. Finished boards in various formats and colors adorn the walls of the company's office landscape - even the table is made from the company's own boards.
But the road to success has not been straight. The pandemic and its effects on the manufacturing industry, followed by inflation, energy crises and rising interest rates, put a damper on the new business. Delayed machine deliveries and high costs meant a tough start, but Recoma has stuck to its vision.
– It is not a question of if, but when, says Max. We see that things are starting to turn around in the industry now.
Marking with precision – using the Linx 8920
Once production was underway, a new need emerged. The boards needed to be marked – for function, quality and brand. CE marking, traceability codes, clear center marking for assembly, and last but not least: Recoma's logo had to be visible on the construction sites.
After careful research, Recoma landed in a collaboration with Logimark, who recommended Linx 8920 inkjet printer.
The machine met all our requirements, and the price was also an important factor, says Max. It was the best option for us.
Easy operation, helpful service
Since the installation Linx 8920 has worked great. The printer is integrated into the continuous production and is in operation 24 hours a day, from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon.
It just stands there and runs. We barely have to touch it, says Max.
There were some challenges with attaching the print head to the conveyor, but Logimarks service department quickly came up with a solution. With specially designed and manufactured brackets, the installation was smooth – a potential headache that Recoma completely avoided.
When Recoma recently wanted to update the design of its markings, Logimark quickly solved the problem on site in Hässleholm.
Looking ahead – more production, more printers
Despite a somewhat slower start than expected, development has been rapid. Recoma is now investing in a new production line where an additional printer will be needed. New product formats are also being planned – including half boards, which require marking on both parts.
A lot of good things have happened, so we shouldn't complain. Now we expect production to double within a year, says Max.
A circular future
Recoma is a company that is literally building the future – sustainable, innovative and purposeful. Through their collaboration with Logimark, they have found a reliable partner that matches their needs both technically and in service. Together, they are not only creating clearer markings – but also clear imprints in a changing industry.
